How it works + an example trip

HOW THE TRIP BOARD WORKS

Build a dated trip from checked records

The choices below shape one source-linked brief. They do not check live availability or fill gaps with guesses.

  1. Choose what matters

Select travel dates, up to eight destinations, a value or ease priority, and optional no-car or first-visit context.

  2. Dates filter official events

An event appears only when its verified date range overlaps your stay. Dates do not imply that tickets, seats or venues are available now.

  3. Destinations shape the pass check

Selected places identify checked route segments. The board compares individual tickets with passes only when fare, coverage and eligibility records are complete enough.

  4. Facts keep their sources

Official links and checked dates stay beside the event, route and pass facts. Missing or stale details remain visible as unknowns.

  5. Copy or share the brief

Copy the result as Markdown or plain text, download it, or copy a share link that restores the same selections in another browser.

EXAMPLE ONLY — NOT YOUR TRIP

What one completed state can contain

This sample is assembled from the same checked records as the tool. Make your own selections below to replace it.

Selected dates
12 September 2026–28 October 2026
Selected destinations
Central Sendai and Matsushima
Event match
Kandinsky: The World Resonates appears because its verified event dates overlap the example dates.
Transport check
Central Sendai–Matsushima adds a checked route segment. Individual tickets remain in the comparison alongside Sendai Marugoto Pass; the board calculates the result instead of assuming a pass wins.
Brief and sharing
The generated brief can be copied as Markdown or plain text, downloaded, or shared with a link that restores these selections.

  • The Miyagi Museum of Art
  • Adults ¥1,300; students ¥1,100; elementary, junior-high and high-school students ¥650

Explore Kandinsky's career and his reception in Japan through works held in Japanese collections. –

The Power of Buddhist Paintings: Treasures of Tohoku

  • Sendai City Museum
  • Adults ¥1,300; high-school and university students ¥1,000; elementary and junior-high students ¥600. Separate official voucher conditions apply to discounts.

Buddhist paintings connected with Tohoku, including National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties. Displays rotate during the exhibition: check the official object list for the dates of any work you especially want to see. The museum explicitly opens on 13 October; do not apply the Miyagi Museum of Art's closure that day to this venue. The official discount voucher is also covered on our Deals page; follow the linked museum voucher conditions before buying admission.

–

YOIAKARI SENDAI — selected nights

  • Reservation required
  • Junior-high age and older: weekdays ¥900, weekends/holidays ¥1,500. Ages 4 through elementary school: ¥500/¥1,000. Weekend/holiday entry after 20:00 uses weekday prices; ages 3 and under free.

An outdoor evening of light and performance on selected nights, not every day within the date range. Follow the official site's booking link to choose an operating date and time slot. Recheck the official site on the day for weather cancellations. Some routes are difficult for wheelchairs and strollers; ask staff about access.

–

Akiu Halloween Fair 2026

  • Participating shops and facilities across Akiu
  • Prices and participation conditions vary by shop or activity; check the official programme and each participating venue

A seasonal programme of Halloween menus, decorations and activities across Akiu. The digital QR stamp rally runs from 1 October to 1 November: use a smartphone at participating venues and collect three stamps to enter the prize draw. The two-day Halloween market is a separate part of the fair and does not run throughout October. Check each venue's opening calendar and conditions before travelling.

–

Uminote October Nest — selected-date stays and day camping

  • Sendai Agriculture and Horticulture Center, Midori no Mori
  • Reservation required
  • Paid plans; rates and additional charges vary. Check the official plan details before reserving.

Choose trailer-house accommodation, a vehicle overnight area, camping or day camping. Consult the official plan calendar before reserving: not every plan operates on every date. Live availability, check-in/out times, booking deadlines and cancellation terms are not verified here. The garden's ordinary opening hours are not accommodation hours.

Sendai Classical Festival 2026

  • Hitachi Systems Hall Sendai, Sendai Bank Hall Izumity21 and Taihaku Ward Cultural Center
  • Reservation required
  • Advance paid concerts: 45 min ¥1,500 adult / ¥800 U-18; 60 min ¥2,000-¥2,500 adult / ¥1,100-¥1,500 U-18; adult same-day tickets +¥200

Ticket update, checked 2 October: the organiser announced on 30 September that planned ticket sales for concert No. 77, the Grand Finale on 4 October, 19:30-20:30 at Izumity21 Main Hall, had sold out and sales had ended. This notice is specific to No. 77, not a festival-wide sold-out announcement. Check the official programme for each concert. The 20th festival presents 77 reserved-seat concerts across eight halls in three facilities. Admission-age rules vary by performance: 0 and older, 3 and older, or primary-school age and older; U-18 applies from age 3 through 18, and children age 3 and older need a ticket. Buy through the official channels and check the live programme for the latest remaining-seat status before purchase; same-day tickets are offered only when seats remain. Online and convenience-store purchases may carry additional ticketing fees.

Gurutto Uminote Experience Festa

  • 14:00–16:30
  • Daterium, 1F JR Sendai East Gate Building
  • No reservation requirement recorded
  • Free entry; no reservation required

Discover Sendai's coastal area through talks, exhibition booths and a family puzzle rally at the station-side venue. Some activities and gifts are limited in quantity. The city announcement, current coastal-area detail page, tourism listing and city flyer all give 14:00-16:30 for the event; check the official programme for individual activity times. This station event is separate from the later YURUMOBI coastal-area vehicle trial.

–

Midori no Mori Autumn Fruit & Flower Festival

  • Sendai Agriculture and Horticulture Center, Midori no Mori
  • Activity fees and reservation requirements vary; check the individual official programme pages

A seasonal programme of fruit picking, autumn flowers and activities at the garden. Check each activity's dates, fee and booking requirements before travelling. At the same centre, the Shun no Kaori local produce market runs only on 3-4 October, 09:00-17:00, at Fureai Exchange Plaza; sales may finish early if goods sell out. The free Aozora Canvas ground-drawing activity is also limited to 3-4 October, 10:00-12:00, at that plaza. Do not expect either two-day activity throughout the festival. Follow the festival page for its separate fruit-picking and flower-activity links.

–

TOHOKU REGENERATIVE FOOD FESTIVAL

  • Nishi Park, Central Plaza, Sendai
  • Free festival entry; restaurant courses and some workshops require separate paid tickets

Explore Tohoku food through a market, chef-led dining, talks and learning activities. Free entry does not include the restaurant courses or ticketed workshops: check the organiser's booking links for the programme you want. The official site lists a six-minute walk from Omachi Nishi-koen subway station.

Michinoku YOSAKOI Preview at AEON Mall Sendai Kamisugi

  • AEON Mall Sendai Kamisugi, 4F KAMISUGI ONE PARK

A separate preview ahead of the main Michinoku YOSAKOI Festival on 10-11 October; this does not change the main festival dates. Local teams will perform, with a group dance planned for visitors to join. Come for one of the two announced sessions rather than assuming continuous performances between them. The organiser has not specified admission fees or reservation rules in this announcement; check its updates before visiting.

Michinoku YOSAKOI Festival

  • Seven venues across Sendai
  • Paid viewing seats - 10 October (each block: 10:00-13:48, 14:00-16:48 and 17:00-20:30): A stand seat ¥1,500 / B arena seat ¥1,000; 11 October: 09:30-11:18 A stand ¥1,000 / B arena ¥500, 11:30-14:18 (Prime) and 14:30-17:24 (Junior/Revival) A stand ¥2,500 / B arena ¥1,500, 17:42-20:30 (Finals) A stand ¥5,000 / B arena ¥3,000. Jozenji-dori Parade one-day pass (11 October only): ¥1,000.

The official outline lists six stage venues and one parade venue across Sendai. Paid-seat advance sales run from 20 August through 7 October 2026 at 23:59 (P-code 661-877). Before entry, exchange an advance ticket at the merchandise tent for the colour-coded wristband for its time block and seat type. Seats are unreserved and entry is first-come, first-served; the printed number is only an organiser reference, not an entry order. Re-entry is allowed, and holders of consecutive wristbands may remain in the same seat between blocks; unattended belongings may be held at changeover. The organiser published the 2026 performance schedule on 22 September, with separate 10 and 11 October timetables and a full PDF. Use that official schedule to choose your teams and venues, and recheck it before visiting for changes.

Pokémon × Crafts: Beauty and Artistry

  • Tohoku History Museum, Tagajo
  • Adults ¥1,600 (advance ¥1,400); elementary, junior-high and high-school students ¥800 (advance ¥600); preschool children free

Contemporary Japanese crafts inspired by Pokémon, at the Tohoku History Museum in Tagajo. This is outside central Sendai. Some works rotate between the first display period, 10 October-15 November, and the second, 17 November-27 December; do not assume every work is visible throughout. Plan around the museum's closing days and check its official ticket information before travelling. Reservations for related talks and photo sessions are separate from ordinary exhibition admission; a full session does not establish that the exhibition is sold out.

–

Uminomori Halloween 2026

  • Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium
  • Normal daytime adult admission ¥2,400. Selected-day lantern workshop ¥800 extra. Separate night admission: 31 October adult ¥2,500; eligible annual-pass holders ¥300 on either night. Other age categories have different rates.

Halloween-themed tanks and daytime performances run during the seasonal programme. The lantern workshop is for elementary-school age and older, on its four announced dates only, with limited places; it is not a daily activity. The night programme is separate: 25 October is for annual-pass holders only, while 31 October also admits general visitors. Both nights require a dedicated night ticket purchased online; a daytime ticket or annual pass alone cannot be used for night entry. No night tickets are sold at the on-site counter or machines, and no shuttle bus operates for the night events. Check the operator's booking links and access information before travelling; live availability is not reported here.

–

Sendai Oimo Expo 2026

  • Nishi Park, Hanami Plaza, Sendai
  • Admission: advance ¥600 / on the day ¥700; preschool children free. Food purchases cost extra.

A gathering of roasted sweet-potato and sweet-potato sweets vendors. Choose the correct date and session when buying admission: the 75-minute limit applies on 31 October, 1 and 3 November, while 2 November has a different daytime schedule. Children of elementary-school age or younger cannot enter alone. Same-day tickets stop selling when the day's allocation is reached; check official ticket availability before travelling. Vendor and menu changes are possible. This venue is Nishi Park's Hanami Plaza, not Nishikicho Park.

Verified guide Naruko Gorge, central Akiu or Yamadera for autumn leaves? Yamadera has the cleanest car-free chain and the hardest walk. Central Akiu is the easiest day to shorten, but the bus details decide whether it works. Naruko Gorge has the strongest scenery case and the weakest last mile. Current colour is not knowable in advance for any of them, so choose on transport and walking fit unless a dated first-party report already covers your date. Official source: Osaki City, Naruko Gorge destination page · Checked on 27 August 2026 Verified guide Four day trips from Sendai, and how to choose Matsushima is the easy one and works as a same-morning decision. WHY TRUST THIS

    Sources, freshness, and honest gaps

The board distinguishes official schedules from manually checked information and stale records. It never treats a static build as live availability.
